WRITING CLUB
Mrs. Krivit
What is Writing Club?
Anthologies
Mission Statement:

The Writing Club will provide an opportunity to let each writer's inner artist thrive. Students have complete choice over genre, submissions, and writing style. The Writing Club environment will be supportive of risk-taking and of each other's opinions. The club represents writers who are accomplished as well as those who need inspiration.

What to expect at a meeting:

Each meeting begins with a writing activity meant to "warm the brain." Once the activity is complete, students may use the rest of club time to write, confer, or share their work. Other activities include reading to larger crowds once a project is complete, hosting guest speakers (local authors), and meetings dedicated to reading work aloud so students have a chance to share their work with each other in a more formal atmosphere.

S-E Writing Competition:

Each year the Writing Club will hold at least one writing competition for student writers who are not in the club. All submissions will be judged by members of the club based on the given criteria that the club decided upon. All participants will receive recognition and an award will be given to the winner.

Publications:

At the end of the year, members will submit their best work to be published and distributed to faculty and students in an anthology. Some students' submissions are even printed in various publications like Pine Tree Poetry.
