The Middle School Candy Club is a group of sixth graders who work together in three teams to sell candy every Friday after school. Each student works every three weeks on a rotating basis. The teams are responsible for setting up the display, selling the candy, inventory control, determining profit and loss, and determining how best to use their profits. Last year the club donated to a local family whose home had burned down. They also went on an end of the year field trip to Norwich where they ate at a local restaurant and shopped at Wal-Mart. The club teaches the students money handling skills and the fundamentals of running a small business. The club members are an enthusiastic group who work hard to insure the success of the operation as a
whole.
